Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to inform you about the Science homework pack that your child will receive on Monday, 21st October, which he/she is expected to complete over the upcoming half-term holiday.
The pack contains three short-answer papers:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
Each paper is designed to help students reinforce the key concepts covered in Science, and it is important that they complete these papers under exam conditions. This means:
- No use of phones or other electronic devices
-
No distractions (such as background noise or social media)
- Working independently
At the end of each paper, there is a mark scheme included for students to self-assess their work once they have completed each paper. This self-assessment will help them understand their strengths and identify any areas for improvement.
Please note that the pack does not need to be handed in until Monday, 11th November, giving students three full weeks to complete it, including the October half-term holiday. We encourage students to manage their time effectively and ensure that they complete the work at a steady pace, rather than leaving it until the last minute.
It is also important to mention that this homework pack does not replace their Seneca homework, which will still be set during the week commencing 21st October and 4th November. Students will need to complete their Seneca assignments as usual, alongside this holiday homework.
Your support in ensuring that your child completes the homework under appropriate conditions is greatly appreciated. This will ensure he/she gains the most from this task and is better prepared for future assessments.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch. Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Claire Nield
Head of Science
