Dear Parent/Carer,
As a part of your child’s education at Outwood Academy Shafton, we promote personal well-being and development through a comprehensive personal development education programme. The personal development curriculum which encompasses RSE, Health education, Citizenship and Religious Education is the personal development area that gives young people the knowledge, understanding, attitudes and practical skills to live safe, healthy, productive lives and meet their full potential. We also support student personal development through wider opportunities e.g. assemblies, form time, personal development days and workshops.
We are delighted to share with you some of the personal development days and external providers that we are welcoming into the academy to deliver impactful messages to our students on emerging issues.
As a school community, we are committed to working in partnership with parents; parental feedback has indicated that the overwhelming majority of parents continue to be highly supportive of the personal development programme.
