Dear Parent/Carer
Praising Stars 5
Year 10 & 11
As you will be aware from previous correspondence in March, the deadline for Teacher Assessed Grades (TAGs) to be submitted to the exam boards is 18 June 2021 and our intention was to continue to send home Praising Stars reports. However, we are now at a point where we are nearing the submission date for TAGs and have therefore made the decision NOT to share Praising Stars 5 data with you as we now feel that we are too close to the TAGs deadline. The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) has instructed all schools not to share TAGs with students.
For our Y10 students this impacts on some of their internal assessments and subject courses that continue into Y11.
Over the last few months, teachers have been collating all the evidence needed to justify the final TAG grades. The exam boards will then carry out a quality assurance process on the grades which could result in the grades being amended. Final grades will be available to Y11 students on the following dates:
- GCSE results - Thursday, 12 August 2021
We will confirm arrangements for the distribution of results nearer the time.
It has been an absolute honour to have the opportunity to see our students’ resilience, positive attitudes and to be able to be part of their experiences. During their time in Y10 and Y11 the whole world has had to change the way it has operated and everyone has made sacrifices. Our Y11 students adapted their learning with confidence and stayed determined to succeed. The knowledge and skills that they have developed and the experiences that they have had have shaped them, to make them the amazing individuals they are. Now they have time to focus at home on their next steps, careers and Post 16 masterclasses. Soon they will all be embarking on the next stage of their lives with an education behind them that will hopefully allow them to achieve whatever they want to do.
Yours faithfully
Alison McQueen
