Dear Parent/Carer,
In order to support your child to be successful in science and maths, both departments are offering a fantastic opportunity to attend virtual revision masterclasses delivered via Google Meet. These will take place at the following times, starting from the first week back, Tuesday 3rd January 2023:
Maths
- Thursday 5-6pm Foundation Grade 5 Topics - Miss Kirkham
- Thursday 6-7pm Foundation Grade 4 Topics - Miss Kirkham
- Thursday 6-7pm Higher - Grade 6 and beyond - Mrs Ayre
- Monday - Time TBC - Further Maths - Mr Espaas
Science
- Monday 5pm-6pm Combined Science Foundation and Higher (Triple students welcome)
- Tuesday 5pm-6pm Triple Science (Combined Higher students welcome)
- Additional sessions will be added throughout the term to address tricky topic areas as requested by students.
During the sessions, which will be delivered by experienced, specialist teachers from across the departments, students will review key topic areas, receive guidance on revision strategies and learn to improve their exam technique to enable them to achieve their target grades and beyond.
Your child has been identified by their class teacher as an individual that would not only benefit from this additional support but as a student that will embrace the opportunity to strive towards their GCSE target. Although these sessions are not compulsory, I feel that your child would benefit greatly from the experience. I am sure that you would agree that it is vitally important that they take every opportunity available to prepare for their examinations and I appreciate the support given already.
In order to access these sessions, your child will need to accept the invitation to the Google Classrooms which will be sent out after the holidays. The link to the Google Meet will be posted in this Google Classroom at the start time of each session.
We hope that you and your child will see this as an excellent opportunity to make progress in science and maths and take up the offer to attend these virtual masterclasses.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs Hipten Miss Chadbourne
