Letter to Parents and Carers: Year 11 information

Dear Parents and Carers of Year 11 Students,

As we head into the final weeks before the whole Y11 summer exams, we want to ensure that our Year 11 students have all the support they need to succeed. This is a crucial time, and we are committed to providing resources and encouragement to help them reach their full potential.

It is an important reminder that some students will have exams in French, Spanish,German, Photograph, Graphics, Art, Media and Health & Social Care before the first whole Y11 exam on Monday 12 May. A full list of exam dates can be found attached below. All students should have received their individual entry sheet for exams within their PS5 report. If your child has not got this they can see Mr Bray.

We want to highlight the various support systems available. We are running a series of masterclasses and interventions, the timetable for which will be available on the school website. After school and Lunch sessions will continue as well as 121 and support through intervention tutor groups.

Additionally, we encourage students to take advantage of our English Literature challenge, which requires only five minutes a day online to complete and can be accessed via the English Google Classroom. Online revision can also be completed for both Maths and Science through Seneca, a reminder that students can access this via their school Google Account. Laptops will be available during break and lunchtimes for those who need access.

It's also vital to emphasise the importance of attendance during this period. Every lesson counts, and being present in class is the best way to ensure students don't miss out on vital information and support. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, but it is vital for all students to attend school regularly and all students must attend every exam.

We want to reassure you about the support available in school, this can be from Form Tutors, Teaching Staff, Learning Manager, Senior Leaders, Attendance Team, Exams Officer, Inclusion and Safeguarding. We're here to help your child navigate any worries or concerns they may have. Tips to prepare for exams can be found here and please speak to class staff if you or child need help or support in any way. You can contact Mr Holmes or Mrs Littlewood directly with any further queries or concerns.

Finally, we look forward to celebrating with the Class of 2025 at Prom on Thursday 26th June at Burntwood Court Hotel. We will then invite students and their families for Prom Breakfast on Friday 27th June. A highlight within the school calendar which we share with our community.

We are confident that, with your support and the students' hard work, they will achieve their goals and gain outcomes which will improve their life chances.
