Dear Parents/Carers
The Class of 23’s Celebration Prom at The Burntwood Hotel, Brierley, will be held on Thursday 22nd June 2022. This will be a fantastic evening and a chance for us all to celebrate the many achievements of all our Year 11’s during their time at Outwood Academy Shafton.
In recognition of the hard work and dedication that students have shown since September, Mrs McQueen has committed to pay for the tickets of every student who completes their Prom Passport. Students have been asked to hand their Prom Passports in by Friday 28th May. They will be signed off over the start of the following week and then students and parents will receive a letter confirming their ticket for the Prom. We are aware that certain aspects of the criteria have altered during the course of the year and therefore, some of the criteria are no longer possible to achieve in full. This will be taken into account when signing off completed passports.
Parents are able to pay for their child’s Prom ticket via iPay from the week commencing 24th April. Students and parents will be notified that they have successfully completed their Prom Passport by Friday 19th May. Please contact Mr Turner if you would like an update on your child’s progress.
If parents have purchased a ticket prior to their child completing their passport you will be refunded. For those who do not have access to iPay, you or your child will be able to collect a letter from the finance office with alternative payment options.
It is important for you to be aware that whilst the vast majority of Year 11’s are invited to attend this year’s Prom, this is dependent on their continued excellent behaviour and attitude whilst in school. Poor behaviour at any time before the Prom would risk your child’s invitation.
The cost of the ticket is £30.00.This covers the venue hire, meal, one drink on the night and the Prom Breakfast the following day. Initial information for the day of the Prom has been shared on Google Classroom but please email Mr Turner if you have any questions.
I look forward to seeing all our Year 11’s maintain their incredibly high standards in the coming months and can’t wait to celebrate your time at Outwood Academy Shafton on the evening of the Prom.
Yours faithfully,
J Turner
