Dear Parent/Carer
We would like to let you know that we are very proud of our Year 9 students who have now completed their final assessments in French and demonstrated excellent exam skills and strong subject knowledge.
As a result of this, there will be no further formal assessments in this academic year. Therefore after half term, the decision has been made to change the Year 9 groupings according to option choices for GCSE. Students who will study a GCSE in French will be placed into a group where they are able to make a start on their GCSE course by reviewing past learning.
Students who have not opted for GCSE French will be placed into mixed ability groups where they will have the opportunity to continue with their language learning alongside some cultural aspects from the French speaking world including exploring film, music and the Olympics which is taking place in Paris this summer.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us or any member of the MFL team.
Thank you as always for your continued support.
Yours faithfully
Hannah Kelly and Sarah Swinden
Heads of MFL
