Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to ask for your support in ensuring that your child’s lunch account is up-to-date with enough funds for students to obtain their lunch.
-
Day 1. If a student does not have enough credit then our catering team will allow a negative balance up to the value of the meal deal; typically - £2.80
-
Day 2. If a student has a negative balance of the meal deal value they will not be able to spend anything further without a voucher. The voucher must be obtained from a Learning Manager; Learning Manager’s know our students' circumstances and can make a professional judgement and make contact with parents to ask them to add money to the account.
-
Day 3/4/5.. The catering team and/or Learning Manager will speak with a senior colleague who will consider the individual circumstances, permit further vouchers to be issued if necessary and/or speak to the parents/carers.
-
Day 6. If an account remains in debt, further consideration will be given by senior colleagues to consider the next steps i.e. no more than 1 week's debt to accrue.
Please note that if a student is in receipt of Free School Meal, if a student uses their allowance to purchase food at break, they will not have enough funding to purchase a meal at lunch; Free School Meals is reset daily and does not accrue if not spent.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Jim Davis
Catering Manager
