Letter to Parents and Carers: Equipment

Fri 07 Mar 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been wonderful to welcome students back after our February half term break.

Year 11 have come back and straight into their mock assessments; they have been exemplary in terms of their attitude and conduct. A reminder for families that our Year 11 Revision Festival will take place on Thursday 13 March, 3:30 - 5:30.

We have seen an increase in students arriving at the academy without basic equipment. It is essential that students have their own basic equipment for lessons (pen, pencil, ruler and pencil case). A highlighter, whiteboard pen and rubber would also aid students learning but we don’t categorise this as basic equipment.

From Monday 10 March 2025, any student arriving at the academy without basic equipment will receive a sanction. Students can purchase an additional pencil case, with equipment, for £1 using their parentpay account, pencil cases can be collected from Reception when payment has been made.  All students must carry a bag and a planner. Planners must be kept clean and free from graffiti.  Students must bring their planner, equipment and bag with them each day as a minimum expectation. We will issue C4 detentions where a student does not have equipment with them. For KS4 students Y10 and Y11, it would be appreciated if your child could bring their own scientific calculator to use in lessons.
